Evfrat Imambek

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Socioculturologist, Professor of The Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory and assistant professor of T.Q. Jürgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. Chairman of the Kazakhstan Guild of Art Critics, member of the National Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Intangible Cultural Heritage, UNESCO expert on art education in Central Asia, member of the Board of the International Tengri Research Foundation.

He was born in 1958 and graduated from the Аbai Kazakh national pedaogical University in Almaty(1984, faculty of the French language); postgraduate studies at the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture (1992, Department of Theory and History of World Culture); International Institute of Public Administration under the Prime Minister of the French Republic, (1995, specializing in International Relations).

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, specialty 13.00.05, thesis topic – “Organization of leisure in France: animation model”; Corresponding Master of Public Administration, specialization International cooperation in the field of culture, the topic of the tutor’s work “Culture as a factor of French foreign policy.”

 

He began his career in 1976 as a worker at an auto repair plant, since 1985 he has been working in the system of trade union cultural institutions of Kazakhstan, since 1992 – in the structure of external relations of the Government and the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since 1995 the work of MAMBEKOV E.B. associated with educational activities – first postgraduate education of civil servants, then – higher education of specialists in the field of culture.

 

Mambekov E.B. has rich experience in organizing educational and scientific work: in 1995-97. with his direct participation, the concept and the first curricula of the National Higher School of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (now the Academy of Public Service) were developed; in 1997-98 on his initiative, the Republican Scientific Center for Cultural Problems of the MOKiZ was transformed into the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Culture and Art History.

In September 2008, he was approved as vice-rector for scientific work of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after S. T. Zhurgenova. For a short period of work of E.B. Mambekov in this position at KazNAA, the Dissertation Council for the defense of candidate dissertations in the specialties of art history, incl. in the specialty 17.00.09 Theory and history of art – for the first time in the area east of the Volga. A PhD doctorate was opened in six specialties, the master’s profile expanded to 12 specialties of art history. He has developed and introduced into the educational process of the master’s and doctoral studies special programs on the methodology of scientific research in art history. International relations of the academy have intensified, especially cooperation in the field of research and training of scientific and pedagogical personnel. In April 2010 KazNAA successfully received national accreditation.

 

In 2015-2017. – Deputy Director of the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan for scientific work. A number of significant projects have been implemented under his leadership, incl. such as “Äsem älem” – an open arts academy and “Ansağan täüelsizdik” – a national painting, drawing and sculpture competition.

 

With his active participation, the Kazakhstan Guild of Art Critics was created in 2020, since February 2021 he has been its chairman.

 

Under his leadership, a number of international scientific-theoretical and scientific-practical events were held that opened up new topical topics, including the symposium “The origins of Kazakh statehood” (NSHGU, 1995), research sessions “Images of the future of Kazakhstan” (KISS – Ebert Foundation, 1996- 97), conference “Strategy for the development of culture and art of Kazakhstan” (KazNIIKI, 1999), colloquium “Tengrianism as a factor in the formation of cultural identity in Central Asia” (IFEAC – French Institute for Central Asian Studies, 2004), “Traditional worldview systems and contemporary art ”(Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov, 2009) and others.

 

Evfrat B. IMAMBEK owns scientific works on foreign models of social and cultural activities and public service, education and spiritual production; on technologies of socio-cultural modeling and design; on methodology and philosophy of culture; problems of actualization of the immaterial culture of the Turkic peoples. He is the author of over 30 scientific and journalistic articles, incl. and in international publications, the monograph “In the service of the state. Essay on the French model of executive power and civil service “, a number of projects and regional programs.

 

Since 2009 E. B. Mambekov actively cooperates with UNESCO structures in Central Asia in such areas as art education (author of the section “Higher art education” in the National Report of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2010) and intangible cultural heritage (initiator and curator of the project nominated to the UNESCO Representative List of Traditional Musical Puppetry art of Kazakhs “Orteke”). Currently he is a member of the National Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage under the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, an expert of its Technical Committee.

Mambekov E. B. are distinguished by such qualities as broad erudition, high efficiency, initiative and a creative approach to business, a combination of exactingness and democracy in communicating with colleagues.
